Distal Femoral Cortical Irregularities aka "cortical desmoid"
This benign irregularity is characteristically found on the posteromedial distal femur of active children and adolescents .
Often an incidental, asymptomatic finding, it results from repetitive, chronic avulsion stress at the attachment site of the gastrocnemius muscle or adductor magnus.
It requires no treatment, as it resolves spontaneously with maturity..
