The Hepatic Artery Resistive Index (HARI) is notably elevated in cirrhosis.

Hepatic Artery Resistive Index (HARI) serves as a highly useful discriminator for diagnosing cirrhosis.

While healthy, non-cirrhotic individuals typically have a HARI of 0.7 or less, patients with cirrhosis demonstrate significantly higher values, generally above 0.71.

This increased resistance is likely due to the distortion of hepatic architecture from fibrosis and a reduction in vascular space.
